Description
We are in business to help your business thrive, even in challenging times. Our promise to provide the best in shipping, logistics and marine services is one we take seriously. And we have the reach, resources, expertise and experience to deliver on that promise.
Swedish roots, seafaring heritage
The GAC story started in 1956 when Swedish entrepreneur Bengt Lindwall signed an agreement with two Kuwaiti businessmen to form Gulf Agency Company to provide professional ship agency services in the country. Today, Kuwait’s Shipping License “No.1” is proudly displayed at GAC Kuwait’s office in Farwaniya.
Fond of quoting the phrase ‘Wer viel fragt, wird viel wissen’ (‘He who asks a lot will also know much’), Lindwall encouraged everyone to ask questions, confident that there are no stupid questions, all can be relevant and important. It was that open entrepreneurial spirit that led directly to the establishment of GAC over sixty years ago. Over the next decade, more offices opened throughout the Middle East as oil, shipping and logistics business there grew.
